All of my quilts offered here are reversible. I started this practice with the first quilt I created, as it seems wasteful to me to not make use of the broad canvas offered by the quilt back. I also am passionate about improvisational quilting, which means not using a standard pattern. To flex those design muscles I almost always create improvisational backs. Spending hours selecting the fabrics, cutting, pressing and sewing, causes me to fall in love with each quilt. To love something means, to me, to name it, so I also name each quilt, constructing the letters and merging them into the quilt back. The names may come from the feelings surrounding me as I sewed, or the emotions springing from the front design, or perhaps from the fabrics themselves. The discernment of the quilt's name brings the process full circle.
Each of my pillow cases is unique and one-of-a-kind, created from three coordinating fabrics. The method used is called the burrito method, and it leaves no unfinished seams to come unraveled. The fabric for these beauties is mostly found at a local brick and mortar store that sells bolt ends and samples. As a result, I usually only have a yard of each print, which can be used to create the body of one case (the predominant fabric) and the cuff of another (the approximately 4" wide band at the case opening). That is why you won't see more than one or two of each pillow case. The process of mixing and matching the pillow case fabrics is something I adore, so I hope you enjoy the results! Each pillow case measures approximately 19" wide x 30" to 31" long.
